Untold Conflict, Part 1

Pegasus, Contingents - There is a war raging between The Ebidium Dagger (TED, Union alliance), and Federation Underground (FU, Federation alliance) in the sparsely populated universe of Pegasus right now.

Intergalactic politics here are always intriguing, complex, and tense. Someone, somewhere, is always planning something. And when such plans come to fruition... Pegasus makes some noise.
There is a terrific backstory behind the events that happened the last 2 months in Pegasus, which eventually led to an all-out war between two major alliances. This is a three-part coverage of this untold conflict explaining the events that happened.

Some viewer discretion is advised when reading this. Information presented here may be biased, because the information is coming from biased pilots in the conflict.

For many months there was an ongoing conflict: Dark Knights against The Ebidium Dagger, and KAT against Federation Underground. Dark Knights supports Federation Underground, and KAT supports TED. The exact reason behind this asymmetrical warfare is unclear. Relations between TED and FU were reasonably well despite the obvious proxy support. Some skirmishes, but not really intense. There was an agreement between the two alliances not to attack each other with squadrons, keeping things to just pilot vs pilot combat, and they steered mostly clear of each other.
Sometime before August, a pilot named "The Eraser" was a member of TED, and built a base in Labela, PUC. He then left TED to join KAT. This meant that KAT suddenly got a base in the PUC.

On the 12th of August, two starbases in Sargas were destroyed by Miss Demeanor, who is a pilot of KAT. It's a mystery where she got the squadrons from, but it's most likely from The Eraser's starbase, and/or from a starbase in the NPR. The only one who knows for sure is Miss Demeanor, and understandably she's cryptic about giving this information.
Her reason to attack? Mostly to provoke, to see if she could do it. They were at war with DK and FU for a long time now, and she wanted to up the ante.
KAT is an unique alliance in the sense that they are neutral, and their behaviour reminds of piracy, but they went way beyond simple piracy and are a serious military-strength threat to whoever they decide to attack.
In response, DK and FU teamed up to attack KAT in the PUC. They succeeded in killing Miss Demeanor, but met a lot of resistance from the local TED pilots, who defended their space from the intruders.

At this point Perpetual Anomaly, leader of TED, was worried about an escalation between FU and TED, and tried to initiate peace talks. TED claimed they had no knowledge of the attack. KAT echoed this, claiming to act on their own.
Later in August, Distant Shadow, the leader of Federation Underground, publicly blamed TED for the Sargas attack and declared their no-squadron agreement void.

To be continued...
